Convert Traktor OGG stream to MP3 and AAC+ with metadata.

That's how we would go about it or like General Lighting says with a second mixer and soundcard. :) We totally agree with this statement. If any listener was really after a track ID they could easily just contact the station or as General Lighting stated just search for the tracklisting...

Streaming simultaneously in both MP3 (128kbps) and AAC+ (64kbps) using Edcast.

Yes, Shoutcast servers will stream MP3 and AAC+, just not at the same time. Whatever format that you stream in, it will need to be at the same bitrate that your server is configured for. Yes, Flash will not play AAC+ In all cases we would recommend Mp3 over any other format. Its more user...

Traktor sends metadata to Icecast but no sound is heard.

Yeah, its worth checking that you have the correct channels selected for each. Especially if your soundcard allows for separate headphone monitoring of your mixes. To be honest, we have never needed to use the 'Mix Record' feature. All recording or streaming has always been done from a separate...

No sound in iTunes when playing MP3 stream from Edcast to Shoutcast.

The 'Quick Links' are for Winamp, Windows Media Player, Real Player and Quicktime, there is no link for iTunes. But we are pleased that you got this to work anyway. :)

No sound in iTunes when playing MP3 stream from Edcast to Shoutcast.

And this is only with iTunes you say? That seems odd if it works fine in the flash player and other media players? Please let us know the next time that you are streaming and we shall test this for you. This might sound stupid but are you sure the iTunes volume control was actually turnt up?

Streaming simultaneously in both MP3 (128kbps) and AAC+ (64kbps) using Edcast.

Icecast servers can handle different formats on different mountpoints but only in Mp3 and Ogg Vorbis. With Shoutcast you would require seperate servers for each format.

Convert Traktor OGG stream to MP3 and AAC+ with metadata.

We recommend running another stream encoder in the background of Traktor to stream the audio in Mp3 to your Shoutcast server. The Butt or Edcast encoders will do this well: http://forum.internet-radio.com/guides/5893-streaming-butt-encoder-both-shoutcast-icecast-servers.html

Convert Traktor OGG stream to MP3 and AAC+ with metadata.

Hi ihatespinach, You will not be able to display Traktor's metadata when using another encoder such as Edcast unfortunately, although saying that Edcast does have an external metadata option where its taken from a file or URL, but to be honest its not something that we have ever used? You may...

Traktor sends metadata to Icecast but no sound is heard.

Have you got the correct channels selected for each of the 'Monitor' and 'Master' outputs in your Internal Mixer preferences? Also, the 'Traktor Mix Record' is for recording mixes internally without having to use other software. You should not need to have this enabled for streaming.

ICECAST switching from AutoDJ to Live - Player Restart

Hi Mike, Icecast servers move listeners over without the need for them to restart the player? Are you using the mountpoint of "/live" in SAM's settings for when you stream live? This will automatically move listeners from the "/autodj" mountpoint over to the "/live" mounpoint.

Advice needed - to rent a server or not??

Welcome! Your Mac would be more than powerful enough. Streaming itself isn't very cpu intensive. This is the issue. Bandwidth. Your 200 mbit connection again would be fine for you trying to handle 300 listeners. You didn't specify the bitrate (quality) you plan to use but we presume 128...

    Disconnections

The issue appeared to be further up the chain unfortunately. The bandwidth provider for the datacenters were the ones having issues it seems. This is very unusual. Our monitoring shows the issues seem to have passed now though. As mentioned before we will continue to monitor the situation.

Yes unfortunately there have been some packet loss issues at the data center the past few hours. It seems to have settled right now. We have notified the NOC and have been assured they are working on it. We will continue to monitor the situation. Apologies for the inconvenience.
