Yes, this is just a solution to free up your computer from running this. If you use Sam instead then you have no choice but to use your PC unless you had a spare PC kicking around to use instead.

Is it possible to stop the relay of a station and get back to my own broadcast without stopping the server?

This will require a server restart unfortunately as the server config will need reloading to remove the relay as your servers source.
